NYC based artist Tama Gucci returns with potent new single ‘You Lost Me’.

The project is the alter ego of Miami-raised musician Kymani Floyd who impressed with his startling 2022 debut EP ‘Almost Blue’. A re-working followed, alongside last year’s one-off shard of light, ‘Only Smoke Trees’.

New single ‘You Lost Me’ finds Tama Gucci emerged from the darkness, blending opaque electronics with shattered remnants of R&B songwriting. Picking up the pieces and building anew, his highly evocative, incredibly personal methodology – with a guest spot from Colle of Chanel Beads – results in something really rather special.

Soulful and pure, ‘You Lost Me’ comes equipped with visuals shot during the recent solar eclipse, with Tama aligning with long-time collaborator Jonathan Qualtere, who notes: “I’m not sure the stakes get higher than a one-take choreographed video during a one minute and 11 second Total Eclipse that doesn’t happen again until 2044 in America…”

“After weeks of preparation, everything for this video came together perfectly,” notes Tama Gucci. “It was very rewarding to see the eclipse during this filming and even more rewarding that we were able to capture history for this music video.”

Dubbed “our love letter to the cosmos” by the director, you can check out the video for ‘You Lost Me’ below.
