Aman Resorts’ sister brand, Janu, has opened its inaugural hotel in Tokyo. The opening of Janu Tokyo marks the inception of an expanding pipeline of 12 properties. Situated in Azabudai Hills, the capital city’s modern urban village, Janu Tokyo has 122 guestrooms and suites, eight venues for dining and socializing, and a 43,055-square-foot spa and wellness center.

Janu Tokyo’s rooms and suites are spread across eight floors, spanning 592 to 5,586 square feet. Most offer private balconies, while Corner and Tower View Suites benefit from dual-aspect views through large windows. An abundance of connecting rooms are available; all rooms have large bathrooms with double vanities, rain showers and soaking tubs and are separated from the bedrooms by sliding partition walls alongside spacious walk-in wardrobes and living areas.

The Janu Suite is the hotel’s largest individual accommodation with 3,056 square feet of living space. Its two balconies offer views of Tokyo Tower and Azabudai Hills. Guests can also expect a modern kitchen and bar counter, a dining table for six, separate study and a lounge. When combined with its three adjoining rooms, the Janu Suite reaches a total size of 5,586 square feet.

Janu Tokyo’s multi-disciplinary spa and wellness center spans across four floors. A 3,659-square-foot gym is accompanied by five movement studios for group exercise, including spinning, yoga, golf simulation and boxing, alongside a hydrotherapy and thermal area with an 82-foot indoor lap pool and heated lounge pool. The wellness center also has two signature Spa Houses, available for up to four guests on an exclusive basis. Additionally, a consultation room, hair and nail salon, and seven private treatment rooms offer an array of signature therapies. For non-hotel guests, a limited number of Wellness Collective memberships are available.

Janu Tokyo’s two Aman Essentials boutiques, the first standalone outlets outside an Aman resort setting, are accessible to both hotel guests and Azabudai Hills visitors from street level.

Janu Tokyo houses eight F&B venues: Janu Mercato with its three Italian open kitchen counters; Janu Patisserie; Ligura offers a choice of à la carte or omakase dining; Sumi presents a contemporary interpretation of sumibiyaki, offering an intimate omakase experience for dinner only, with 13 seats gathered around a grill, serving seasonal ingredients cooked over charcoal and complemented by wine and sake; Janu Grill sports a show kitchen, two wine cellars and two private dining rooms; Hu Jing offers Cantonese specialties alongside a vegan menu; Janu Lounge & Garden Terrace serves afternoon tea and snacks; and Janu Bar offers cocktails inspired by several of Tokyo’s districts.

Janu Tokyo will also showcase events and experiences in partnership with local artisans and institutions.
