2025-04-19

An exciting day of family fun unfolded in Edmonds as the Daybreakers Rotary Club organized its annual Easter egg hunt. The event brought together children of all ages, eager parents, and cheerful volunteers. Participants searched for hidden treasures while enjoying a festive atmosphere filled with chocolate eggs, candy, and small prizes. Each age group had its own designated area, ensuring everyone could participate safely and enjoyably. From toddlers accompanied by their guardians to older kids racing independently, smiles were everywhere. This heartwarming tradition not only provided entertainment but also strengthened community bonds.

A Colorful Celebration at Frances Anderson Field

On a bright Saturday morning, Frances Anderson Field in Edmonds transformed into a vibrant scene of joy and excitement. Organized by the Daybreakers Rotary Club, the annual Easter egg hunt attracted families from nearby areas, including Everett. As the event began, member Brenda Brown carefully set up the starting line tape, signaling the start of the thrilling scavenger hunt. Young Varnikha, though initially shy next to the oversized Easter Bunny, soon joined in the festivities. Children aged 8–10 led the way, followed closely by enthusiastic groups of 5–7-year-olds and younger participants aged 2–4, who were gently guided by their parents. Kameron proudly displayed his collection of colorful eggs and treats, while Brianne and Malia, along with their sons Gage and Denasye, traveled from Everett to take part in this cherished tradition.

The event was meticulously planned to ensure every child experienced the magic of Easter. With designated zones tailored to different age groups, even the smallest participants felt included and valued. The combination of friendly competition, sweet rewards, and community spirit made it an unforgettable experience for all attendees.

This year's Easter egg hunt reminded us of the importance of shared traditions and community engagement. Such events foster connections among neighbors and create lasting memories for children. By coming together for a common purpose—whether hunting for eggs or cheering on little ones—we strengthen the fabric of our communities. The dedication of organizations like the Daybreakers Rotary Club exemplifies how volunteerism can bring people closer and enhance quality of life. As we look forward to future celebrations, let’s cherish these moments that unite us through joy and goodwill.
