Hosted by the United Way of Clarion County (UWCA) and supported by Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PPA), this exhibition aims to provide a platform for networking and exposure while fostering awareness of regional artistic talent. Held on April 6 at the historic Haskell House, the event features works from painters, illustrators, photographers, and more. An Afternoon of Art and Community
On a sunny Sunday afternoon, in the charming town of Clarion, the Haskell House will transform into a hub of artistic expression. From 2 to 5 p.m., fifteen creators hailing from various disciplines will exhibit their masterpieces across the lower level of this iconic venue. Ann Harting, administrator of the PPA grant program for UWCA's United in the Arts Committee (UAC), explained that the initiative stems from a desire to bridge connections between artists and the public. Through surveys conducted among both creatives and residents, it became clear there was a need for increased visibility of local artistry. This showcase addresses that gap, allowing attendees not only to admire but also discover how they can engage further with each artist's work.
Among those featured include wood carver Jake Jacobson, whose Scandinavian-inspired pieces emanate introspective charm; illustrator Tannis Mohr, renowned for her innovative designs blending traditional and digital techniques; and photographer Sonya Porter, celebrated for capturing moments of serene beauty. Other contributors span diverse mediums such as mixed media collage, pottery, fiber art, and oil painting, offering something for every artistic palate.
To complement the visual feast, three musical acts will grace the stage throughout the event: Keridwyn, a folk and Celtic ensemble; Tassa Ellis and Son; and Samantha Sears. Tickets priced at $10 include appetizers, cookies, beverages like coffee and water, alongside access to a cash bar serving limited cocktails, wine, and beer.

Beyond showcasing talent, the event highlights two significant PPA grants administered by Harting under the UAC umbrella. The Creative Entrepreneur Accelerator Program offers $2,000 stipends to individual artists aiming to enhance their craft or launch new ventures. Meanwhile, the Creative Sector Flex Fund provides $5,000 to non-profit art entities for operational support.
