Community Comes Together for Rhinelander Area Food Pantry's Spring Challenge
2025-02-28

The Rhinelander Area Food Pantry (RAFP) has launched its Annual Spring Challenge, inviting local residents to contribute generously. Two anonymous families have pledged to partially match all donations or pledges received between March 1 and April 30. This year marks the 20th anniversary of RAFP, which has distributed over nine million pounds of food to the community. Currently serving more than 1,000 households and providing 35,000 meals to children, the pantry relies on public support, especially during periods when donations tend to decrease. Contributions during this challenge will be amplified, offering greater assistance to families in need.

In celebration of two decades of service, the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry is organizing a special event on Saturday, April 26. The 20th Anniversary Celebration & Fundraiser will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at The Pines. Attendees can enjoy a delightful brunch and salad bar, along with a mimosa and juice bar, an empty cup soup bar, and various activities including a 50/50 raffle. Tickets are priced at $30 per person, or $250 for a table of eight. This gathering aims to raise funds while commemorating the significant impact RAFP has had on the community over the past 20 years.

The generosity of two local families has added an exciting dimension to this year's challenge. By agreeing to partially match all donations received within the specified timeframe, they have encouraged others to give more generously. Since its inception, RAFP has been a cornerstone of support for many families, ensuring that no one goes hungry. As the pantry continues to grow, it faces increasing demands but remains committed to its mission. With each donation, supporters help extend a lifeline to those in need, making a tangible difference in people's lives.

Looking ahead, the success of this spring challenge could set the stage for even greater achievements in the future. The upcoming anniversary celebration not only serves as a fundraising opportunity but also highlights the importance of community involvement. Through collective efforts, the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry can continue to thrive, providing essential resources to those who depend on it most. Every contribution, whether monetary or in-kind, plays a crucial role in sustaining this vital community resource.
