2025-04-16

A continent-wide collaboration among over 1,200 bowling alleys aims to promote community engagement and encourage physical activity among children. The program, known as Kids Bowl Free, offers two complimentary games of bowling daily for kids from April 30 through August 31. This initiative has been running successfully for 17 years, providing free bowling opportunities to an impressive 30 million children across North America.

Local Participation in Kids Bowl Free Program

In the Stateline region, five bowling establishments are actively participating in this commendable effort. These include The Cherry Bowl and Don Carter Lanes in Rockford, Park Lanes and Forest Hills Lanes in Loves Park, and Viking Lanes in South Beloit. Families interested in taking advantage of this opportunity must register online at a dedicated website. Once registered, families will receive weekly email coupons allowing each child aged 15 and under to enjoy two free games of bowling every day throughout the summer months.

From a journalist's perspective, initiatives like Kids Bowl Free exemplify the positive impact that community-focused programs can have on young people's lives. By promoting physical activity and offering recreational opportunities, such programs help combat sedentary lifestyles while fostering social interaction among children. This is not just about bowling; it’s about creating healthier, more engaged communities.
