For Brian Pagan, owner of Tailored Cuts Barber Lounge, the situation has been particularly difficult. He notes that fewer patrons are willing to brave the congested streets to reach his business. "People just want to get home as quickly as possible," Pagan laments, highlighting how the construction has significantly impacted foot traffic.

A few doors down from Pagan's barbershop lies That Crepe Place, where Jeanetta Torres and Rob Kellar face similar struggles. They report a more than 50% drop in sales since the start of the project. Customers often express admiration for the creperie but admit that the construction deters them from frequent visits. "We love your place, but we avoid coming due to the terrible conditions," one customer told Kellar. This sentiment reflects a broader trend among locals who prioritize avoiding traffic over supporting neighborhood businesses.

Torres shares her fears about sustaining their venture amidst such challenging circumstances. "It's heartbreaking to think we might lose everything because of factors beyond our control," she confides.
