A significant milestone was reached as the River Bend Food Bank hosted its fifth annual Women Fighting Hunger gathering. This initiative has become a cornerstone for raising funds that sustain the School Pantry Purchase program. By enabling school food pantries to remain well-stocked, this crucial program supports the nourishment of 2,200 children every month across 74 participating schools. The event not only fosters community spirit but also ensures no child goes hungry during their formative years.
This year's celebration featured an engaging evening filled with enriching activities. Attendees enjoyed a delightful dinner, participated in both a silent auction and raffle, and were inspired by keynote speaker Nora McInerny. Adding charm to the occasion, KWQC’s Morgan Ottier skillfully guided the program. Held at the Rhythm City Casino Resort from early evening into the night, the atmosphere buzzed with energy and camaraderie among attendees committed to making a difference.
Through such initiatives, communities come together to address pressing issues like childhood hunger. Events like these highlight the importance of collective action in fostering environments where all individuals, especially young ones, can thrive. It is through dedication and collaboration that we create pathways toward a brighter future for everyone involved.
