Charlotte-based HARTZ Search Recruits Eunmee Shim as OSF HealthCare President

December 19, 2024 witnessed an extensive national search that led to the recruitment of Eunmee Shim as the president of OSF HealthCare's Saint Joseph Medical Center in Peoria, IL. This significant appointment was led by chief of staff Gabby Ross, former partner Carol Maxwell, and CEO Mike Hartz. As the new president, Eunmee will play a crucial role in aligning OSF St. Joseph with the overall strategy of OSF HealthCare. She will be responsible for directing all internal operations and ensuring the continuous delivery of high-quality and cost-effective healthcare to the patients. Shim will carry forward a culture of collaboration and integration, providing a safe mission partner and patient care environment while embracing the Catholic healthcare heritage and supporting the Sisters' Mission.

Background and Experience

Ms. Shim joins OSF Saint Joseph Medical Center from Adventist Healthcare, where she has spent the last 13 years rising through leadership. Most recently, she served as the president of Fort Washington Medical Center, where she led the hospital from a Leap Frog F to Leap Frog A status in just five years. During the pandemic, she also managed to expand hospital capacity. Before being promoted to president in 2019, she held the position of senior vice president of ambulatory networks and chief strategy officer, where she led Baldridge. She holds a bachelor of science in nursing from Sahmyook University in Seoul, Korea and a master of science in nursing informatics from Columbia University School of Nursing in New York City.In her new role with OSF, she will direct all internal operations and develop and implement short-term tactics within long-term strategies to provide high-quality and cost-effective healthcare.
