Ches-Mont and State Tennis Champions Shine with Outstanding Performances

Additionally, Conestoga's coach, Brittany Aimone, was named Coach of the Year for leading her team to an undefeated season and securing the PIAA 3A state championship for the third consecutive year.

Matt Miller from Unionville demonstrated consistent excellence throughout his senior year, capturing the Ches-Mont American singles title before earning a second-place finish in the District 1 3A singles tournament and placing fourth at the PIAA 3A level. His performance helped elevate the competitive spirit across the region. Meanwhile, Michael Gao of Conestoga played a pivotal role as the No. 2 singles player for the PIAA 3A state champion Pioneers, advancing to the second round of the state singles tournament after a fourth-place district finish.

Danny Gallagher from Bishop Shanahan rebounded impressively from a close loss in the previous year’s District 1 2A singles final by winning the tournament in his junior year. He also made it to the first round of the PIAA 2A singles competition before falling to eventual champion Max Henson. Zach Evans of West Chester Henderson made headlines by defeating former champions Ben Gao and Shrihan Madam to claim the Ches-Mont National singles title. His early victories in the District 1 3A singles tournament further solidified his rising status in the region.

In doubles play, the trio of Raphie Lubiniecki, Rohan Rao, and Tristan Lubiniecki from Conestoga proved instrumental in the team’s undefeated season and PIAA 3A state title victory. Raphie and Rohan later partnered to win the District 1 3A doubles tournament in straight sets, showcasing their dominance. Andrew Ou and Andy Ye from Unionville maintained their consistency by claiming the Ches-Mont American Division doubles title for the second consecutive year and finishing third in the District 1 3A doubles tournament. Alex Sheldon and Justin Brown of Downingtown West also impressed by winning the Ches-Mont National doubles tournament as a newly formed junior-sophomore duo.

The recognition extended beyond the top performers, with several athletes receiving second-team honors in singles and doubles categories. These selections highlighted the depth of talent across the region, with emerging stars like freshman Andrew Li making an impact. The doubles pairings from various schools, including Great Valley, Downingtown East, and Conestoga, contributed significantly to their teams’ overall performances throughout the season.

Brittany Aimone of Conestoga capped off the season by being named Coach of the Year for the third year running. Under her leadership, the Pioneers maintained an undefeated record of 22-0 and triumphed once again over Lower Merion in the PIAA 3A state finals. Her emphasis on teamwork, resilience, and core values resonated through the entire program, reinforcing the idea that success is built not just on skill but on unity and mutual support among players.
