HUBER HEIGHTS — The construction saga of Ohio's first Buc-ee's location has taken an interesting turn. After a legal battle that had put a halt to the works, the construction can now move forward. As reported on News Center 7 at 5:00 p.m., the expansive worksite is situated in Huber Heights, right off Interstate 70 and State Route 235. This massive project holds great promise for the local community.

Economic Impact and Expectations

Huber Heights Mayor Jeff Gore expressed his delight at putting the government squabbling behind them and focusing on bringing Buc-ee's to the city. He firmly believes that it will serve as an economic driver for the community. "Of course, that area, which is the far eastern edge of the city, we do expect people coming from all over," Gore said. This indicates the potential for increased foot traffic and business opportunities in the region. The first Buc-ee's in Ohio may cover dozens of acres and include 120 gas pumps along with a retail store comparable in size to a giant box store. Such a significant establishment is likely to attract a large number of customers, not only from the local area but also from neighboring regions.

Underground Infrastructure and Preparation

At this stage of construction, the majority of the work is focused on underground infrastructure. Water pies and electrical work are being carried out meticulously to ensure the smooth functioning of the huge and unique business. This underground work is the foundation upon which the entire Buc-ee's operation will be built. It requires careful planning and execution to meet the high standards set by the Buc-ee's corporation.Dayton resident Erin Payne, who doesn't usually come to Huber Heights, has started to take an interest in the project. "The water and sewer and everything going on, that's when I really started looking into it and started getting really excited about it coming up here," Payne said. Her enthusiasm shows the potential impact that Buc-ee's can have on the local community.

Bringing Buc-ee's Features to Huber Heights

Dave Dicke, from Huber Heights, is familiar with Buc-ee's stores that are mainly located in the South. Now, the first one in Ohio will bring the chain's trademark features to the area. "They usually have good products and lower prices, so it should be good for the consumers," Dicke said. This indicates that local residents can expect to enjoy quality products at reasonable prices."Well, Buc-ee's is well-known and well-liked and it's going to be a plus for the neighborhood," Dicke added. The presence of Buc-ee's is expected to enhance the local shopping and dining experience, making it a more attractive destination for both residents and visitors. The Buc-ee's corporation held a ground-breaking on Aug. 8 and expects to be open in 15 months, setting the opening date for December 2025. Mayor Gore said that Buc-ee's believes they can stay on schedule, which is great news for the community. This shows the corporation's confidence in the project and their commitment to delivering a top-notch establishment.
