Fatal Collision on O'Neal Lane Claims One Life, Injures Two Others

A tragic traffic accident occurred on Thursday morning in Baton Rouge, resulting in one fatality and two injuries. The incident took place at the intersection of O'Neal Lane and Woodwick Avenue around 6:20 a.m., involving three vehicles. Emergency services were promptly called to the scene, with the coroner attending to one victim while ambulances transported two injured individuals to the hospital. Authorities reported that the crash happened when a vehicle attempting to make a left turn was struck by another car, which then collided with a third vehicle stopped at a traffic light.

According to East Baton Rouge Parish deputies, the sequence of events began when the first vehicle attempted to turn left from O'Neal Lane onto Woodwick Avenue. As it did so, it was hit on the rear passenger side by a second vehicle. This impact caused the turning vehicle to collide with a third car that was waiting at a red light on Woodwick Avenue. A bystander assisted in removing one of the occupants from the turning vehicle, but unfortunately, this individual was later declared dead. The extent of the injuries sustained by the other occupants remains unclear.

The occupants of the other two vehicles involved in the collision were not harmed.
