A chance encounter with a family friend introduced him to Landscapes Unlimited, a company renowned for its work in golf course development. This serendipitous meeting set the stage for a career that would take him across the country, transforming landscapes and honing his skills.Schuver began as an assistant superintendent, quickly ascending through the ranks. Within two years, he was managing projects independently, bringing architects' visions to life. The unique blend of creativity and construction fascinated him. However, the allure of adventure eventually gave way to the desire for stability. By early 2020, the challenges posed by the pandemic and the longing to be closer to family led him back to Sioux Falls.

Finding Love and Purpose in Sioux Falls

Returning to Sioux Falls during the height of the pandemic proved to be a pivotal moment for Schuver. A night out downtown introduced him to Emily, who would soon become his wife. Their connection rekindled his appreciation for the city’s charm and warmth. While juggling golf assignments in neighboring states, Schuver began exploring job opportunities closer to home. He joined Soukup Construction, a regional excavation contractor, as a project manager, later transitioning into a superintendent role.The shift from golf courses to civil construction was seamless. Schuver’s experience in managing large-scale projects made him a valuable asset. Working on significant developments like Furniture Mart USA’s expansion, the Public Safety Training Campus, and the Midco Arena at Augustana University, he played a crucial role in shaping Sioux Falls’ evolving skyline. Each project brought new challenges and opportunities, reinforcing his decision to stay.

Schuver’s return coincided with an unprecedented period of growth in Sioux Falls. The city’s rapid development opened doors to numerous projects that required his expertise.
