In a significant move within the music industry, Global Talent Services (GTS), Universal Music's Latin talent management arm, has completed the acquisition of Rosa Lagarrigue Management (RLM). This strategic acquisition not only consolidates GTS's position in the global market but also brings aboard Rosa Lagarrigue, a pioneering figure in artist management. Lagarrigue, who founded RLM in 1980, joins GTS as Executive Vice President Global, bringing decades of expertise to the company. The integration aims to enhance service offerings for RLM’s roster and leverage Lagarrigue’s insights across GTS's expansive network.
The story of RLM begins in 1980 when Rosa Lagarrigue established one of the first management companies owned by a woman. Over the years, RLM played an instrumental role in shaping the careers of legendary artists such as Miguel Bosé, Alejandro Sanz, and Mecano. Today, its active lineup features renowned names like Raphael and Rozalén. Lagarrigue's vision has always been centered on providing personalized and strategic support to each artist, emphasizing a blend of intuition, strategy, and hard work. This philosophy aligns perfectly with GTS's mission to deliver top-tier services to artists globally.
GTS itself was launched in 2011 and has rapidly expanded its presence throughout Spain, Portugal, the United States, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil. The company boasts an impressive roster that includes Aitana, David Bisbal, Ela Tauber, Lola Indigo, Pablo Alborán, and Vivir Quintana. By acquiring RLM, GTS aims to amplify its capabilities and offer enhanced resources to both existing and new clients.
Narcís Rebollo, President and CEO of GTS, expressed his excitement about the acquisition, highlighting Lagarrigue's extensive experience and respected status in the industry. He views this move as a critical investment in strengthening GTS's leadership in Latin music talent management. According to Rebollo, the combined teams will ensure that every artist receives optimal service and strategic guidance to achieve their goals across all markets.
Rosa Lagarrigue echoed similar sentiments, expressing her belief in the necessity of unique and tailored support for each artist. She is enthusiastic about collaborating with Narcís Rebollo and his team to continue and expand upon the legacy started at RLM. Together, they aim to create a synergistic environment where artists can thrive and reach new heights. This acquisition marks a pivotal moment for both companies, setting the stage for future growth and innovation in the music industry.
