His extensive international experience includes tenures in prestigious wine regions such as Rioja, Pomerol, Margaux, Slovenia, and Serbia. Despite this global exposure, he humorously notes the short geographical distance he's covered professionally—from Elsenburg, where he obtained his degree, to a 26-year tenure at Laibach, and now, to Kanonkop, its immediate neighbor.

The strategic acquisition of Laibach (now Ladybird Vineyards) by Kanonkop in 2022 expanded the estate's vineyard holdings to 130 hectares. This move also provides a dedicated production facility for Kanonkop's second label, Kadette.
