An 18-year-old Memphis resident has been apprehended by local law enforcement in connection with a series of car thefts and break-ins. Marquellriou Harris faces multiple charges, including property theft, auto burglary, carjacking, and using a firearm during a felony. Several incidents were reported over the weekend and into Monday, involving stolen vehicles and personal belongings. Surveillance footage and witness statements led to the arrest of Harris, who admitted to his involvement in these crimes.

Series of Car-Related Offenses Reported

In recent days, several vehicle-related crimes have come to light in Memphis, prompting swift action from the police department. Victims reported unauthorized access to their cars, leading to the theft of valuable items such as wallets and credit cards. These incidents occurred on different streets across the city, indicating a pattern of criminal activity. The series of offenses began when two victims reported that their vehicles had been broken into on South White Station Road. Thieves made off with wallets, debit/credit cards, and identification documents. On Madison Avenue, another individual's car was reported missing. The following day, a woman was forced out of her vehicle at gunpoint on Poplar Avenue. Police investigations revealed that the stolen Kia Forte from Madison Avenue was used in subsequent crimes. During the carjacking incident on Poplar Avenue, Harris acknowledged driving the stolen Kia Forte. Authorities have charged him with several serious offenses, and he is currently held on an $80,000 bond, awaiting his court appearance scheduled for Wednesday.
