With around 15 years of experience in the medical field, he has now come to our hometowns from Las Vegas, accompanied by his wife and children. His top priority is to ensure top-notch patient care and assist the hospital in overcoming any challenges it may encounter.LewisGale Medical Center stands out as one of the few hospitals in Southwest Virginia where women can receive maternity care and have baby deliveries. The demand for these services is on the rise, and McLaughlin is working closely with hospital staff to come up with new ideas to meet this increasing need. "When a service line like women's services is growing, our team starts thinking about the growth plan, available space, and how we can accommodate it. We are in the early stages of exploring these aspects to ensure sustainable growth," he explains.

Addressing ER Wait Times

Southwest Virginia also faces the national issue of long ER wait times. McLaughlin is committed to seeing patients as quickly as possible. "I always imagine myself as a patient coming through the front doors and believe in getting you seen promptly. Our team is dedicated to making the throughput as efficient as possible. There is always room for improvement, and we are constantly looking for ways to enhance the patient experience," he says.
