2024-12-16
Universal Orlando is currently undergoing a significant transformation as the old signs are being replaced with state-of-the-art digital ones. This massive construction project is set to bring a new level of visual appeal and interactivity to the resort. The announcement in October about replacing all five roadside signs has sparked excitement among visitors and locals alike.

Witness the Evolution of Universal Orlando's Signage

Construction Progress at Universal Boulevard and Hollywood Way

At the corner of Universal Boulevard and Hollywood Way near the Universal Orlando parking garage entrance, the former sign has been removed. A black scrim now stands in its place, featuring the Universal Orlando Resort logo and skyline. The decorative shrubbery and red flowers remain, adding a touch of charm to the construction site. Although we couldn't see through the scrim, it is clear that the old sign has been completely taken away. Another sign across the street also met the same fate. The scrim and fencing in this area give a clear indication of the ongoing work.

When we last checked on South Kirkman Road and Major Boulevard, we could once again see through the scrims, confirming that the old signs had been removed. It was also evident that parts of the new sign had yet to be installed, adding an air of anticipation to the project.

Vineland Road and Universal Boulevard: The Sign Removal Story

At the corner of Vineland Road and Universal Boulevard, the old sign has been replaced with scrim and fencing. We could clearly see through this scrim that the sign was gone, and no structural elements for the new sign were visible yet. This area is also part of the larger sign construction project, which is set to transform the entire Universal Orlando experience.

The removal of the old signs and the installation of the new digital ones is a significant step in the evolution of Universal Orlando. It will not only enhance the visual appeal of the resort but also provide visitors with a more immersive and interactive experience.

The Significance of Digital Signage for Universal Orlando

The new digital signs will have similar designs to the old ones, with the Universal Orlando Resort against a blue background in the center. However, instead of silver panels fanning out from the logo, there will be LED screens showing various videos, animations, and information, including images of IPs. This innovative technology will allow Universal Orlando to showcase its attractions and events in a more dynamic and engaging way.

Digital signage also offers greater flexibility in terms of content updates and promotions. Universal Orlando can easily change the displays to showcase different attractions, events, or offers, keeping visitors informed and excited throughout their visit.
