In the aftermath of a devastating accident that claimed three lives, construction has resumed near the Boise Airport where an under-construction hangar collapsed. Wright Street, tragedy struck when seven massive steel girders buckled and collapsed. The event resulted in the loss of three individuals: Mariano Coc Och (24), Mario Sontay Tzi (32), and Craig Durrant (59). Nine others were injured in this heartbreaking incident.

The Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) conducted a thorough investigation and concluded that the construction firm, Big D Builders, exhibited a blatant disregard for federal safety regulations. They were found to have employed irresponsible methods, leaving the structure vulnerable to collapse. As a result, both Big D Builders and Inland Crane faced substantial fines from the government.

Craig Durrant, one of the victims, was also a co-owner of Big D Builders. Despite the tragic events, the company remains listed as the contractor on the City of Boise's building permit records. According to city documents, Big D indicated that they would proceed with the original building permit but with modifications to the structural drawings.

The initial plan, filed in late 2022, aimed to construct a 39,000-square-foot hangar. This project was part of a broader expansion initiative at the Boise Airport. An existing Jackson Jet Center hangar is scheduled for removal due to an expiring lease agreement with the city in 2027.
