Mind Blowing Films has announced the second chapter of the critically acclaimed Indo-Australian film series, 'My Melbourne', bringing together a new ensemble of distinguished Indian directors. Following the positive reception of the initial installment in March 2025, which showcased works by Rima Das, Onir, Imtiaz Ali, and Kabir Khan, the forthcoming edition will feature contributions from acclaimed filmmakers Rajkumar Hirani, Anjali Menon, Shoojit Sircar, and the returning Onir. This initiative aims to deepen the cultural dialogue between India and Australia through the powerful medium of cinema.

The first 'My Melbourne' anthology explored diverse human experiences, touching on themes such as identity, gender, race, sexuality, and disability, and garnered significant critical praise across both nations. Mitu Bhowmick Lange, CEO of Mind Blowing Films and the project's visionary, expressed profound satisfaction with the project's impact, stating that authentic and heartfelt narratives can indeed transcend geographical boundaries. The project is also committed to fostering inclusivity and creativity by collaborating with emerging artists from underrepresented communities.

The addition of these prominent directors underscores the project's commitment to social consciousness in storytelling. Rajkumar Hirani, celebrated for his popular films like the 'Munna Bhai' series and '3 Idiots,' looks forward to contributing to a film that explores universal human experiences while connecting two vibrant cultures. Anjali Menon, known for her intricate portrayals of familial relationships in films like 'Bangalore Days,' believes 'My Melbourne' aligns with her passion for empathetic storytelling. Shoojit Sircar, whose works include socially impactful films like 'Pink' and 'Piku,' highlighted the global relevance of local narratives. Onir, delighted to return, sees the sequel as an opportunity to delve into new themes and voices, furthering a cinematic journey he deeply believes in.

This collaborative cinematic endeavor stands as a testament to the unifying power of art, demonstrating how diverse perspectives can come together to create compelling stories that resonate across cultures. By embracing different voices and narratives, 'My Melbourne' not only entertains but also enriches our understanding of shared humanity, promoting a more interconnected and compassionate world through the universal language of film.
