Seaside Housing Development in Raseborg Set to Transform Local Living
2025-01-10

A new housing development in Raseborg, Finland, promises to revolutionize residential living by the sea. The project, spearheaded by construction and development firm YIT, aims to create a vibrant community at Ekenäs' North Harbor. Named Asunto Oy Raaseporin Norra Marina, this initiative will introduce 34 homes, ranging from two-storey row houses to spacious apartments. Construction began last month and is scheduled for completion by December 2025, with an estimated value of €13 million. Residents will enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding archipelago and easy access to local amenities. The development also emphasizes sustainability through geothermal heating and solar panels, along with eco-friendly building materials.

The site selected for this ambitious project is strategically located on the shore of Ekenäs’ North Harbor, offering residents not only stunning vistas but also proximity to the town center. The development will feature a mix of 12 two-storey row houses and 22 apartments, covering approximately 3,100 square meters. The variety of housing options caters to different needs, from cozy two-room units to expansive five-room family residences. The project’s vice-president Mikko Lempinen expressed enthusiasm about the unique setting, highlighting its potential to attract outdoor enthusiasts and families looking for a high-quality lifestyle near the water.

Environmental considerations are at the forefront of the project's design. Buildings will meet energy class A standards, incorporating geothermal heating for floors and water, as well as solar panels to support electricity requirements for communal areas. To minimize the carbon footprint, low-carbon hollow-core slabs and facade bricks will be used. Additionally, a comprehensive waste management plan will ensure minimal mixed waste production. For homeowners interested in boating, a jetty will be constructed just 20 meters from the communal yard, providing mooring spaces. Parking facilities will include electric vehicle charging points, further promoting sustainable living.

The communal spaces within the development are designed to foster a sense of community. A sheltered yard with play areas for children will provide a safe and enjoyable environment for families. Already, interest in the project has been overwhelming, with nearly two-thirds of the apartments reserved. This level of engagement underscores the appeal of combining quality housing with a prime seaside location and modern amenities. The project is set to enhance the local landscape and offer residents an exceptional living experience that harmonizes with nature.
