The global green coffee powerhouse, Sucafina, is set to inaugurate a significant new trading office in Germany, aiming to bolster its European operations. This strategic outpost, named Sucafina Germany, is scheduled to commence operations in Bremen by January 2026, marking the company's inaugural comprehensive presence in a country that leads Europe in coffee consumption.
Guiding Sucafina Germany will be the seasoned expertise of Bastian Fülles and Tobias Schwind. With a collective experience spanning over three decades in the coffee trading domain, their leadership is poised to deliver localized services meticulously crafted to meet the distinct demands of the German market. This initiative will be supported by Sucafina's expansive global sourcing and robust supply chain infrastructure.
Germany stands as Europe's primary importer of green coffee and serves as a vital hub for coffee re-export and sophisticated value-added processing. Bremen, historically a pivotal port city, plays a crucial role in this dynamic coffee ecosystem, making it an ideal location for Sucafina's latest venture.
The establishment of Sucafina Germany aligns with the company's consistent trajectory of global growth. This includes recent operational launches in diverse regions such as Guatemala in April 2024, New Zealand, Indonesia, and China's Yunnan Province in previous years. Furthermore, Sucafina's expansion strategy has encompassed significant acquisitions, notably the UK's Complete Coffee Ltd in 2021 and the US-based Sustainable Harvest in 2023. Originating in 1905, the Sucafina group now proudly operates through more than 20 subsidiaries worldwide, employing over 1,500 individuals across 44 countries, with a core focus on importing, exporting, and trading activities. The North American operations, established in 2017, include offices in Brooklyn, New York; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and Seattle.
