Starting this week, increased patrols will monitor driver behavior, particularly focusing on speeding and reckless driving. The project aims to reduce accidents in these areas and improve overall road safety. Additionally, upcoming closures and changes to traffic patterns are planned for early next year, which will temporarily affect travel routes.

Increased Patrols to Ensure Compliance with Traffic Laws

Beginning Monday, law enforcement presence will significantly increase in the 23-mile stretch between Anthem Way and Sunset Point. Authorities emphasize the importance of adhering to posted speed limits and maintaining focus while driving through construction zones. This heightened surveillance is designed to deter unsafe driving practices and protect both workers and travelers.

To ensure maximum effectiveness, patrol units will be active in both northbound and southbound lanes, concentrating especially around the Bumble Bee area. Drivers should anticipate stricter enforcement of the 65 mph speed limit throughout the construction zone. In February, there will be temporary lane closures on the southbound side of I-17 for bridge demolition, requiring careful navigation by all motorists. Law enforcement will play a crucial role in managing traffic flow and preventing potential hazards during this period.

Innovative Infrastructure Enhancements Underway

The ongoing improvement project on Interstate 17 includes significant upgrades aimed at reducing congestion and enhancing safety.
