2025-01-21

In a significant stride toward renewable energy, Envision Energy has embarked on the construction of an advanced wind turbine and energy storage manufacturing facility in Khorgos, Kazakhstan. This collaboration with Kazakhstan Utility Systems aims to bolster the nation's green energy capabilities and expedite its transition to a sustainable economy. The $40 million project is set to produce 2GW of wind turbines and 1GWh of energy storage systems annually, creating over 3,000 jobs and fostering economic growth. Operations are expected to commence by the third quarter of 2026, with a focus on both local and regional markets.

A New Chapter in Renewable Energy for Kazakhstan

In the heart of the Jetisu region, near the Chinese border, a groundbreaking ceremony marked the start of a new era for Kazakhstan's renewable energy sector. The initiative, spearheaded by Envision Energy in partnership with Kazakhstan Utility Systems, aims to establish a state-of-the-art facility that will significantly enhance the country's capacity to produce clean energy. The $40 million investment in Khorgos will result in an annual production capacity of 250 wind turbine units and 100 energy storage units. Sixty percent of the output will cater to the local market, while the remaining 40% will be exported to Central Asia and the Caucasus regions. Expected to open in late 2026, this facility will not only generate more than 3,000 jobs but also serve as a hub for technical support and talent development within the renewable energy sector.

Kane Xu, Senior Vice President of Envision Energy, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing the company's commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technologies to support Kazakhstan's transition to a sustainable future. Dinmukhamet Idrisov, Chairman of Kazakhstan Utility Systems' supervisory board, highlighted the significance of this collaboration in advancing local expertise and contributing to global green transformation efforts. The facility will include a service and technical support center dedicated to nurturing local talent and tailoring products to meet Kazakhstan's unique needs.

From a journalist's perspective, this development underscores the growing importance of international collaboration in driving renewable energy initiatives. It highlights the potential for countries like Kazakhstan to become key players in the global green economy. By investing in advanced technologies and local talent, such projects pave the way for sustainable economic growth and environmental stewardship. This initiative serves as a beacon of hope and innovation, demonstrating the power of partnerships in shaping a cleaner, greener future.
