Expanding Healthcare Options: FWD Hong Kong's New Medical Insurance Plans
2025-05-07

In response to the growing demand for cross-border healthcare, FWD Hong Kong has unveiled two innovative medical insurance products. These offerings cater to both general outpatient needs and high-net-worth individuals seeking comprehensive global coverage. The initiative follows a survey revealing that nearly one-third of Hong Kong residents have sought treatment in mainland China, recognizing the benefits of cross-border healthcare options.

FWD Hong Kong has introduced the GBAssure Outpatient Plan, which provides outpatient coverage across Hong Kong, Macau, and selected mainland cities. This plan does not require health underwriting and encompasses a range of services including consultations, diagnostic imaging, colonoscopies, and traditional Chinese medicine treatments. Simultaneously, the NobleCare Premier Medical Plan is designed for affluent clients, offering lifetime global coverage with no lifetime benefit caps and an annual limit of HK$30 million. It includes access to over 300 top-tier hospitals in mainland China and cashless hospitalization arrangements.

Customers can select from four geographical coverage areas and six deductible options, ensuring flexibility and long-term policy renewals up to the age of 101. To further enhance its offerings, FWD is expanding its collaboration with HKSH Medical Group, focusing on cancer support services. This partnership now includes personalized concierge services, tele-opinion consultations between doctors across borders, and extended rehabilitation plans.

These developments aim to provide holistic care from diagnosis through recovery, addressing the significant proportion of critical illness claims related to cancer. By integrating advanced healthcare solutions and expanding coverage options, FWD Hong Kong is positioning itself as a leader in cross-border healthcare innovation within the Greater Bay Area.

FWD Hong Kong’s new initiatives underscore a commitment to meeting evolving healthcare demands. By introducing flexible outpatient plans and premium global coverage, the company addresses the increasing preference for cross-border medical services. The expanded collaboration with HKSH Medical Group ensures comprehensive cancer care, enhancing patient support throughout their journey. These strategic moves reflect a forward-thinking approach to modern healthcare challenges in the region.
