2025-03-18

The world of rally gaming is set to receive a nostalgic boost as Codemasters unveils the latest DLC for EA Sports WRC, titled Hard Chargers. This pack introduces a range of legendary vehicles and thrilling new stages, enhancing the already immersive experience. Among the highlights is the return of the iconic Martini-liveried Ford Focus WRC '99, driven by Colin McRae during the late '90s and early 2000s. Alongside this classic, players can look forward to six additional cars, including the modern 2021 Hyundai i20 WRC and the historic Mk1 Ford Escort RS1600. The update also features 12 fresh stages set in Sweden and Greece, along with new liveries and scenarios inspired by rallying history.

Revisiting the golden era of rallying, the Martini-branded Ford Focus WRC '99 marks its debut in the game, bringing back memories of its dominance on the tracks. Driven by the legendary Colin McRae, this vehicle has long been a favorite among fans. In addition to this celebrated model, the pack includes the 2021 Hyundai i20 WRC, which saw Thierry Neuville secure third place in the World Rally Championship that year. Hyundai's impressive performance earned them second place in the manufacturer standings. For those who prefer older models, the Mk1 Ford Escort RS1600 adds another layer of nostalgia to the lineup. Furthermore, the Renault Clio Rally3 enters the Junior WRC category, competing against the Ford Fiesta Rally3, while the entry-level Rally4 version joins forces with the Opel Corsa Rally4.

Beyond the diverse selection of cars, the Hard Chargers pack introduces 12 new stages spread across two challenging environments: the icy landscapes of Rally Sweden and the rugged terrains of Greece. These additions promise to test players' skills in varying conditions, adding depth to the gameplay experience. Moreover, enthusiasts will appreciate the inclusion of 18 fresh liveries, both for the newly introduced vehicles and some existing ones. The pack also offers 16 pre-set scenarios known as 'Moments,' allowing gamers to recreate famous moments from rallying history.

Set to release on March 25th, pricing details for the Hard Chargers DLC remain undisclosed. However, it is expected to align with previous packs such as Le Maestros at £8.99 when purchased individually. Alternatively, owners of the EA Sports WRC 24 bundle will receive it as part of their package. Notably, the bundle is currently available at a discounted rate through the Steam Spring Sale, presenting an excellent opportunity for newcomers to join the action.

Gamers eager to relive the excitement of rally racing now have more reasons to dive into EA Sports WRC. With the introduction of the Hard Chargers DLC, players can enjoy a richer experience filled with iconic vehicles, challenging stages, and engaging scenarios. As the game continues to evolve, it solidifies its position as a premier platform for rally enthusiasts worldwide, offering endless possibilities for adventure and competition.
