The Louisiana Tech bowling team faced an intense battle in the elimination rounds of the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Intercollegiate Team Championship. Held at the South Point Bowling Plaza in Las Vegas, the Bulldogs competed fiercely against Judson and Newman to extend their season. In the opening match against Judson, the Bulldogs encountered early challenges but managed to rebound with four consecutive victories, ultimately prevailing 4-1.
After overcoming Judson, LA Tech met Newman in a nail-biting contest that showcased their resilience. Although splits became a recurring issue for the Bulldogs, they demonstrated remarkable composure under pressure. The final game against Newman was decided in the tenth frame, where both teams exchanged crucial marks. Despite a valiant effort, the Bulldogs narrowly lost 181-179, concluding the match 4-3 in favor of Newman. This defeat marked the end of the team's journey in the championship.
