Sukiya, renowned as the leading beef bowl provider in the nation, disclosed plans to suspend operations at nearly 2,000 outlets across the country for a span of four days, commencing on a specified Monday. This decision followed an official statement released earlier in the week. The issue came to light when a rodent was discovered in miso soup served at one of their branches located in western Japan earlier this year.
In addition to addressing the initial incident, the company revealed another concerning event involving food contamination. Just days prior, a different location near Tokyo served a meal tainted with an insect. These incidents prompted an urgent response from Sukiya, leading to the nationwide shutdown aimed at implementing stricter health and safety protocols. The temporary closure affects almost all of their Japanese locations, excluding a few situated within shopping malls, and is scheduled to end early in April.
