During the opening weekend of the outdoor track and field season, Michigan Tech's squads showcased their talent at the WashU Distance Carnival and the Billiken Invite. On Friday, veteran John Paul Norland shone brightly, clocking a remarkable 1:50.87 in the 800m race, placing fourth overall. His teammate Tucker Ringhand also excelled, setting a new personal best in the 5,000m with a time of 14:34.52.

The following day at the Billiken Invite, freshman standout Callen Carrier dominated the men’s 3,000m steeplechase, breaking the facility record with a time of 9:29.83. Meanwhile, Grace Folkema and Brielle Kero claimed second and third places respectively in the women's 800m race.
