A Multifaceted Journey: Angelica Reyta's Balancing Act Between Academics, Family Business, and Entrepreneurship
2025-03-31

Angelica May Reyta, a student at La Salle University pursuing an MBA, embodies the spirit of perseverance and innovation. Her connection to the university runs deep, as it is not merely an academic institution but also a family tradition. With her mother having worked there and numerous relatives being alumni, enrolling was akin to continuing a legacy. However, her path has been far from conventional. Initially majoring in finance, she expanded into accounting due to encouragement from a professor who recognized her potential. This shift set her on a course toward a career in accounting.

Beyond academics, Reyta plays a pivotal role in her family’s restaurant business. Since high school, she has managed various aspects such as supply orders, event coordination, and menu development, often working long hours during the establishment's formative years. The pandemic presented additional challenges, yet Reyta found ways to thrive by launching entrepreneurial ventures like a t-shirt business and Dear Mom, a dessert brand inspired by her mother’s recipes.

Reyta's involvement extends further, encompassing campus activities where she actively participates in Gamma Iota Sigma, mentoring middle school students about career opportunities. She also joined the volleyball club for leisure and initiated a cheerful campus tradition involving tiny rubber ducks placed around the university to brighten students' days.

Her industrious nature has already secured her a full-time position with CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA) despite not yet completing her studies. Although commuting from New Jersey poses logistical difficulties, she remains optimistic about relocating closer to her workplace. Following graduation, Reyta plans to study for her CPA license while completing her MBA through La Salle’s Accelerated BS/MBA program.

Securing employment with CLA before her junior year represents a significant milestone for Reyta. It underscores the rewards of balancing multiple responsibilities effectively. Her journey exemplifies resilience, reminding us that enduring hardships fosters growth and eventual success. As she navigates this next phase, her determination continues to propel her forward, inspiring others along the way.
