Prudential Hong Kong has introduced two key appointments to its executive team. Abhishek Kumar has been named Chief Risk Officer, and Grace Lee has taken the position of General Counsel. Abhishek Kumar: Steering Risk Management

As the newly appointed Chief Risk Officer, Abhishek Kumar is tasked with overseeing Prudential’s comprehensive risk and compliance infrastructure. His role involves cultivating a culture that integrates awareness of potential risks with the pursuit of business expansion goals. By aligning these elements, Kumar aims to enhance the organization’s operational resilience and long-term success.

With over two decades of experience in insurance, risk management, and advisory services within the financial sector, Kumar brings invaluable insights to his position. Prior to joining Prudential, he served as Head of Insurance Practice in Hong Kong and Head of APAC Actuarial Practice at KPMG. During this tenure, he spearheaded transformative projects centered on risk mitigation, regulatory adherence, and leveraging technology for efficiency. Kumar holds an engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology and is recognized as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, underscoring his deep commitment to professional excellence.

Grace Lee: Leading Legal Strategy

In her capacity as General Counsel, Grace Lee assumes responsibility for all legal affairs and the Company Secretary function. Her primary focus includes delivering strategic legal guidance to facilitate business development while maintaining strict adherence to legal standards. This dual emphasis ensures both innovation and compliance remain at the forefront of Prudential's operations.

Lee boasts over 25 years of legal expertise, with more than two decades spent at Citi, where she held senior positions such as General Counsel for various regions including China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. Her broad international exposure equips her with a nuanced understanding of diverse legal landscapes. Holding a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Law from Osgoode Hall Law School, and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business, Lee combines academic rigor with practical experience to drive Prudential forward.
