Hartford Fire Chief Scott Cooney highlighted that this project underscores the effectiveness of the accreditation process, which identifies and addresses previously unrecognized weaknesses within the department. During a trial period, a two-bedroom trailer was placed beside the station to evaluate the impact of having on-call staff in Quechee. The results were promising, with response times aligning with the department average and even achieving a sub-four-minute response to a medical emergency at Lake Pinneo.

Hartford Police Chief Greg Sheldon also emphasized the benefits for law enforcement, noting that officers assigned to patrol the Quechee sector will now have dedicated office space at the new station. This arrangement will allow them to complete paperwork, take breaks, and use facilities without needing to return to the main station, thereby enhancing their operational efficiency.
