Recognized by the National Sports Media Association (NSMA), this accolade acknowledges Goss's remarkable 57-year tenure as the voice of Duquesne University men’s basketball. The presentation ceremony will take place on June 30, 2025, at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, North Carolina. This award honors broadcasters who exemplify dedication to their institution, community involvement, mentorship, and personal integrity.

Goss's illustrious career began in 1968 when he called his first basketball game featuring Duquesne against Fordham in New York City. Over the decades, he has only missed two games: one due to an audition for a regional NBA position and another while grieving the loss of his wife. His commitment remained unwavering even during challenging times, such as continuing broadcasts remotely amid the global pandemic in 2020. Among his memorable moments was calling a pivotal victory over St. John’s in 1969 and a historic triumph over BYU in the NCAA Championship in 2024, marking Duquesne's return to the tournament after nearly half a century.

Beyond his role at Duquesne, Goss boasts an extensive background in sports radio, having covered over 3,000 events throughout his career. From co-founding WCCS in Pennsylvania to collaborating with notable figures like coach Vince Cazetta of the Pittsburgh Pipers, his contributions extend far beyond the university level. Personally, Goss is a devoted family man, sharing seven children, 14 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren with his late wife.
