Revolutionary Espresso Grinders Unveiled by Ceado
2025-04-24

Italian manufacturer Ceado has recently launched its latest line of commercial espresso grinders, the Rev series. This new collection comprises three models: Rev Steel, Rev Titan, and Rev Zero. Each model boasts unique features aimed at enhancing the coffee grinding process through advanced technology and materials. These innovations include specialized burrs, a modular grind-by-weight system, retention mitigation features, and temperature management systems designed to maintain consistent flavor profiles.

At the heart of the Rev series lies the utilization of flat 83-millimeter steel burrs. The Rev Steel variant incorporates pure steel burrs, while the Rev Titan includes titanium-coated burrs for extended durability. Meanwhile, the Rev Zero features a "red-speed" coating combining titanium and aluminum for maximum endurance. Beyond the burrs, the series offers a grind-by-weight system via a removable portafilter holder with an integrated scale known as the WAM (Weight Adjustment Module). This module allows for easy replacement if damaged and reduces inventory costs for suppliers.

A standout feature is the Sweep-Out technology, initially introduced in Ceado's E37z-Barista grinder. This mechanism employs an automated backward spin of the burrs after grinding to expel retained particles, minimizing retention issues. Additionally, the Steady Lock system separates the motor shaft from the burr shaft using a flexible coupling, preventing thermal expansion during high usage periods. Combined with the Grounds Temperature Management (GTM) system, these features ensure that ground coffee remains cool, reducing the need for frequent grind size adjustments.

The design also focuses on noise reduction, achieving an average of 62-65 decibels through rubber rings around the grind chamber and suspension springs supporting the motor. Users can customize the airflow of the cooling system via a vibrant 3.2-inch TFT IPS touchscreen display, which also provides access to settings, usage statistics, and maintenance alerts. Pricing for the Rev series in the U.S. ranges from $2,350 to $3,900, though subject to fluctuations due to tariffs.

Cosimo Libardo, head of sales at Ceado, envisions the Rev series as the foundation for future innovations aimed at maximizing flavor expression across various applications. With plans for further advancements by the end of 2025, Ceado continues to push boundaries in the world of commercial espresso grinders.
