Siloam Springs School Board Selects Construction Manager for Intermediate School Expansion
2025-01-24

The Siloam Springs School District has reached a significant milestone in its plans to expand the intermediate school. After a thorough selection process, the district has chosen C.R. Crawford Construction Co. as the construction manager for the project. The next step involves determining the budget allocation for this development. A committee comprising key administrative figures met on January 2nd to evaluate four competing firms and ultimately decided on C.R. Crawford. This expansion aims to add approximately 2,200 square feet to the existing facility, enhancing educational resources and infrastructure.

On January 2nd, a specialized committee convened to assess potential construction management companies for the upcoming expansion at the intermediate school. The panel included Superintendent Shane Patrick, Maintenance Supervisor Randall Bolinger, Custodial Manager Zachery Krug, and Assistant Superintendent Jason Lawrence. These individuals reviewed proposals from Phoenix Contractors of Cave Springs, FlintCo based in Springdale, Pick-It Construction Inc. from Fayetteville, and C.R. Crawford Construction Co., also from Fayetteville. Each firm presented their credentials and strategies for managing the construction project.

Following the presentations, the committee engaged in discussions to weigh the merits of each contender. They considered factors such as experience, cost estimates, timelines, and overall compatibility with the district's goals. Ultimately, C.R. Crawford stood out due to its comprehensive approach and proven track record in similar projects. On January 3rd, Assistant Superintendent Lawrence officially informed the selected company via letter, confirming the award of the contract.

With the construction manager now in place, the focus shifts to finalizing the financial aspects of the project. The school board will need to deliberate on the budget required to complete the 2,200-square-foot addition. This expansion is expected to provide much-needed space and improvements to the intermediate school, ensuring that students have access to better facilities and learning environments. Moving forward, the district anticipates a smooth implementation of the project, paving the way for enhanced educational opportunities.
