Six Senses Kyoto has opened its doors, marking the brand’s entry into Japan. Six Senses Kyoto’s biophilic design, evident in the use of wood and natural materials, along with meandering paths through inner gardens, connects guests with nature. The hotel has 81 guestrooms and suites, which each offering Sleep With Six Senses and other programs available for those seeking to further optimize their sleep through soothing treatments, nutritional guidance and more.
Guests can begin their journey with a signature Wellness Screening, which analyzes key health biomarkers in minutes, allowing practitioners to make personalized recommendations tailored to individual needs and goals. Highlights include the Ah-un treatment, which symbolizes “the pursuit of inner peace, balance and awakening in Zen” through a series of rituals and body and sound therapies. Watsu (aquatic bodywork) relieves tension in the body and the mind through hydrotherapeutic moves and stretches in the pool. Additionally, the Biohack Recovery Lounge is equipped with devices for things like compression therapy.
Six Senses Spa Kyoto also offers integrated wellness programs ranging from a half-day to six days for both hotel guests and visitors, with a focus on sleep, detox, yoga and fitness.
The hotel’s F&B options include Sekki, the all-day dining restaurant, which has hyper-seasonal weekly menus and drinks; the adjacent Café Sekki, offering a selection of fresh brews, craft teas, homemade kombucha, healthy juices and sweets and pastries using only natural ingredients and traditional fermentation techniques; and Nine Tails, the speakeasy cocktail bar serving spirits and non-alcoholic options.
Guests can join a sustainability tour, explore interactive workshops at the Earth Lab or create natural body products at the Alchemy Bar. These activities are designed to foster a deeper understanding and connection with local culture and sustainable practices. In addition, the Sustainability Fund supported by 0.5 percent of the hotel’s revenue will go toward locally based organizations, Biotope Network Kyoto and Council for Kyoto Traditional Forest Culture.
