The rental agreements are structured to provide flexibility, offering terms ranging from 12 to 36 months, as well as rolling monthly contracts. Longer commitments generally result in lower monthly payments. For instance, a 36-month lease on the PS5 Digital Edition would cost around £11 per month, while a rolling contract for the higher-end PS5 Pro model could set you back nearly £35.59 monthly. Additionally, customers have the option to lease other peripherals such as the PlayStation Portal and the PS VR2 headset, which recently underwent a price reduction.

One of the standout features of this leasing arrangement is the comprehensive protection offered. Devices come with a lifetime warranty, meaning that minor wear and tear, such as scratches or discoloration, will not incur extra charges when returning the equipment at the end of the lease. Moreover, customers enjoy the freedom to cancel their lease at any time, though doing so before 18 months may involve a cancellation fee, with a 14-day grace period provided.

In contrast, Xbox has been offering financing plans for its Series X/S consoles from the start, including Game Pass Ultimate, ensuring players retain ownership of the console upon completion of payments.
