The state of Wisconsin is set to receive a significant financial boost for its agricultural sector. Governor Tony Evers has unveiled plans to allocate $80 million in his proposed 2025-27 state budget, aiming to strengthen the backbone of the state's economy. This substantial investment will be channeled through the Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection (DATCP) to enhance farm efficiency, connect producers with markets, and promote conservation efforts.

Furthermore, $30 million will support local food banks in sourcing produce from regional suppliers, while another $28 million will bolster various conservation initiatives, including soil and water resource management.
