In a tribute to cherished community member Ann Harper Richardson, the Kosciusko Foundation for Excellence in Education (KFEE) and Skipworth Performing Arts Center (Skipworth PAC) are thrilled to announce open auditions for this year's vibrant Annie Jr. production. As part of the newly renamed Ann Harper Richardson Summer Performing Arts Camp, young performers will have the opportunity to showcase their talents on stage. The camp is set to take place from June 23 through June 27, culminating in a grand performance at the Skipworth Performing Arts Center in Kosciusko, MS.
This year, aspiring actors from first through twelfth grade are encouraged to participate in this exciting theatrical experience. In response to current circumstances, auditions have transitioned to an accessible online format. Participants can conveniently submit video auditions from home between April 4 and April 18. These submissions should include a brief introduction, a selected line from the script, and a song of their choice. Further callbacks or resubmissions might be required during the subsequent weeks, with casting decisions announced on May 1. Those chosen for roles will need to pay a modest $75 fee upon the commencement of the camp.
The legacy of Ann Harper Richardson continues to inspire the local arts community as it opens its arms to new generations of talent. By embracing innovation in audition processes, the camp fosters creativity and accessibility for all students eager to shine on stage. This summer's program promises not only to entertain audiences but also to nurture a passion for the performing arts among the youth. Families and friends are encouraged to support these budding stars by attending the final performance.
