Bentwood Unveils Innovative H75 Grind-by-Weight Grinder
2025-03-12

Swiss engineering has taken a significant leap forward with the introduction of Bentwood's latest creation, the H75 grinder. This advanced machine marks the company's second major release since its inception eight years ago. Unlike its predecessor, the Vertical 63, which featured a perpendicular barrel and an analog interface, the H75 adopts a sleeker, more rectangular design. The new model greets users with a sophisticated 2.4-inch sapphire glass screen, providing precise digital control over grinding settings. This transition from traditional to modern design showcases the company's commitment to innovation and user experience.

The H75's standout feature is its mechanical precision in adjusting grind settings, achieved through an integrated servomotor. An adjustable portafilter holder, now standard on this model, connects seamlessly with a built-in scale for accurate dosing down to 0.1-gram resolution. Inside the deceptively angular casing lies a slanted grind chamber, symbolized by the stylized "H" in the logo. At its heart are proprietary flat 75-millimeter burrs, angled for minimal retention and driven at a consistent 1,350 RPM by a powerful 660-watt motor. This setup ensures an impressive output rate of seven grams per second in the espresso range.

The H75's versatility makes it suitable for both commercial and home environments. Its speed and ease of use cater perfectly to professional settings, while its compact footprint and unique taste experience have already won over many home users. The grinding chamber, made from food-grade aluminum, maintains low operating temperatures, further enhanced by onboard fans that keep internal mechanisms cool. The exterior offers a range of wood and metal finishes, adding a touch of elegance to any setting.

Equipped with built-in Wi-Fi capabilities, the H75 allows technicians to gather usage and maintenance data. Future updates will enable direct communication with espresso machines, a feature previously introduced by manufacturers like Mahlkönig. Launched in Europe in October 2024, the H75 retails for €2,640 ($2,746 USD). As Bentwood aims to expand its global presence, particularly in Latin America in 2025, GH Grinding and Brewing Solutions will continue to serve as the primary importer in the United States, planning a formal launch at the SCA Expo in Houston in April.

Innovation and precision are at the core of Bentwood's mission. By blending cutting-edge technology with user-centric design, the H75 sets a new standard in the world of coffee grinders. This advancement not only enhances the brewing experience but also underscores the importance of continuous improvement and adaptability in the industry. The future looks bright for Bentwood as it continues to push boundaries and deliver exceptional products.
