Brookville High School's Annual Talent Extravaganza
2025-04-03

An exciting event took center stage last week at Brookville Area High School, where more than a dozen students showcased their talents and academic achievements. The annual Brookville Raider Showcase featured two nights filled with performances and displays of student work from various departments. These included technology and engineering projects, mathematical explorations, scientific discoveries, literary creations, historical analyses, and artistic expressions.

In addition to the visual exhibits, visitors were invited to participate in an interactive kindness initiative organized by the Friends of Rachel Club. Attendees could contribute links to a friendship chain, each inscribed with a recent act of compassion. The evening commenced with a stirring rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner" by senior Gannon McMaster, followed by The Chamber Singers' heartfelt performance of the "Alma Mater." A variety of musical acts entertained the audience, ranging from solo vocal performances to band showcases. Notable performances included Josi Buzzard's captivating interpretation of "She Used To Be Mine," Kendall Neill's soulful delivery of "I’d Rather Be Me," and Mallory Taylor's whimsical take on "What Baking Can Do." Two bands graced the stage: The Moops, featuring faculty members and the superintendent, and The Current, a dynamic student ensemble. The program also highlighted non-musical talents such as Jacob Clontz's mesmerizing rope magic, Sorren Morelli's violin virtuosity in "Czardas," and Ava Adamson and Kendall Neill's dramatic sketch, "Santa Runs a Sweat Shop."

This vibrant celebration concluded with Rhyland Davis's emotive performance of "How It End." Ezra Parson and Adaline Miller skillfully guided the evening as emcees. Organized by the high school drama club, the showcase not only spotlighted individual and collective student accomplishments but also raised funds for The Raider Foundation and the drama club itself. Such events exemplify the power of community engagement and the importance of nurturing young talent. By providing a platform for creativity and expression, Brookville Area High School fosters an environment where students can thrive both personally and academically, inspiring future generations to pursue their passions with confidence and enthusiasm.
