Community Car Seat Safety Initiatives in Wilmington
2025-03-06

The city of Wilmington is taking proactive steps to ensure the safety of young passengers through a series of initiatives. Recognizing the alarming rate of improperly installed child car seats, local authorities have organized free safety checks to assist residents. Certified technicians from the Wilmington Fire Department will provide expert guidance to verify that each child's seat is securely fastened, offering peace of mind to parents and guardians.

Two upcoming events are scheduled to offer convenient access for community members. On March 14, participants can visit Station #3 located on Cinema Drive between 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Alternatively, another session will be held at the Fit for Fun Center on April 15 from 10 a.m. to noon. For those unable to attend these sessions, spontaneous visits to any fire station within the city limits are encouraged for immediate assistance.

Ensuring the well-being of children is a collective responsibility. By providing these essential services, Wilmington demonstrates its commitment to fostering a safer environment for all families. Such initiatives not only enhance public safety but also promote a culture of vigilance and care within the community.
