Bei den Milliardenbeträgen, um die in diesen Tagen ständig gerungen wird, klingen 141 Millionen Euro nach einer überschaubaren Summe. Für DB Cargo dagegen ist sie enorm. Um diesen Betrag hat die Güterverkehrstochter der Deutschen Bahn ihren Verlust im vergangenen Jahr verringert. Unter dem Strich stand 2024 ein Minus von 356 Millionen Euro. Zumindest auf dem Papier geht es also in die richtige Richtung – aber längst nicht schnell genug. Schon im kommenden Jahr muss DB Cargo wieder profitabel sein. Schafft die Bahn-Tochter das nicht, droht ihr das Aus.
