An eagerly anticipated community event is set to take place in Jonesboro, Arkansas, as the 13th edition of Show Them Where You Come From (STWYCF) Food Drive prepares to gather local families and supporters. Organized by Brenda’s Table, this annual initiative aims to bolster the organization's pantry with essential nonperishable items for the coming months. Scheduled for Sunday, April 6, from 1-5 p.m., the gathering will occur at the Jonesboro Elks Lodge. Participants can either pay a $20 entry fee or contribute 20 nonperishable food items, both of which directly support the cause.
This year’s drive promises an engaging and enjoyable atmosphere with a variety of activities designed for all ages. Andrea-Dionne Kain, president of Brenda’s Table, emphasizes the family-oriented nature of the event, highlighting features such as the Bag-O competition open to everyone and photo-op walls capturing cherished memories. Adding to the festive vibe, live music performances by Inside Marsellus Wallace will entertain attendees throughout the afternoon. Furthermore, a silent auction running from 1-4 p.m. offers participants a chance to bid on unique items generously donated by local businesses and individuals.
The auction boasts an impressive array of goods, including gift cards from popular eateries like Brickhouse Grill, the Recovery Room, and the Yard, alongside contributions from entities such as the Craighead County/Jonesboro Public Library and Arkansas Medicine. Winners will be notified between 4-4:30 p.m., followed by a period where volunteers assist with collecting payments and distributing purchased items until 6 p.m. For those unable to collect their winnings immediately, flexible arrangements are available.
