Following the conclusion of Rams Head Live!'s final performance, a new chapter in Baltimore's music history is set to unfold this summer. The iconic downtown venue will reopen under the name Nevermore Hall, paying homage to Edgar Allan Poe, a celebrated literary figure from the city. Operated by the local team behind Baltimore Soundstage, the revamped space aims to maintain the high standards and diverse musical offerings that defined its predecessor. With upcoming announcements about its concert lineup and an anticipated start date in August, Nevermore Hall promises to enrich the city’s cultural landscape.
In a strategic move, Power Plant Live!, managed by the Cordish Companies, has leased the premises to the ownership group responsible for Baltimore Soundstage. This decision aligns with their vision of preserving the legacy established by Rams Head Live!, which originally opened in 2004 and accommodated up to 1,500 attendees. Over the years, the venue played host to an eclectic mix of artists spanning various genres, including legends like James Brown and contemporary talents such as Kendrick Lamar. Clutch, a Maryland-based hard rock band, performed at the farewell event on December 6.
The new management team has committed to sustaining the same exceptional quality and variety in music programming that fans have come to expect. In addition to offering an impressive array of performances, Nevermore Hall will feature several enhancements. These include multiple bars, expanded VIP sections, and a striking gothic-inspired interior design. Such features aim to elevate the overall concert experience for visitors.
Kelly Flanigan, regional president for Live Nation, expressed excitement over partnering with Nevermore Hall. She emphasized the company's enthusiasm about contributing to Baltimore's thriving live music environment while strengthening their collaboration with Baltimore Soundstage. Through this partnership, they hope to redefine what it means to attend a live show in the city.
As details emerge regarding Nevermore Hall's inaugural events, anticipation builds among both locals and tourists alike. This transformation not only honors the rich heritage of Rams Head Live! but also introduces fresh elements designed to captivate future audiences. By combining tradition with innovation, Nevermore Hall looks forward to becoming a cornerstone of Baltimore's dynamic entertainment scene.
