On the brink of their upcoming season, the Cleveland Guardians have unveiled their comprehensive television and streaming broadcast strategy. This announcement comes just hours before their game against the Kansas City Royals. The plan ensures that fans across Northeast Ohio can access live matches through various platforms such as Spectrum, DIRECTV Satellite, and FUBO streaming services. Additionally, a direct-to-consumer streaming service has been launched, allowing fans to watch nearly all games without blackouts. With a renewed partnership with Progressive Insurance, the team aims to enhance accessibility and engagement for its supporters.
After almost two decades on SportsTime Ohio and later Bally Sports Great Lakes, the Cleveland Guardians are shifting their broadcasting model for the 2025 season. Their new venture, Guardians TV, will feature games available on multiple channels including AT&T U-verse, COX, DIRECTV, FuboTV, and Spectrum. Alex King, Executive VP of Marketing & Brand Strategy, emphasized the importance of this move in reaching approximately five million households. By partnering with Major League Baseball, they aim to make their games more accessible than ever before. Furthermore, the introduction of CLEGuardians.TV, powered by Progressive, offers an innovative streaming option for fans within their designated viewing area.
The broadcast lineup includes familiar voices from Matt Underwood, Rick Manning, Andre Knott, along with studio host Al Pawlowski. Pre-game shows will be exclusive to home games, enhancing the experience for local audiences. In addition to regional broadcasts, eleven games will air nationally on prominent networks like TBS, ESPN, Apple TV+, and Fox. Four additional games will be available exclusively via streaming platforms, ensuring maximum exposure throughout the season.
Beyond traditional cable offerings, the Guardians have introduced a subscription-based streaming service priced at $19.99 per month or $99.99 for the entire season. This service grants access to 151 games, excluding those reserved for national broadcasts. Fans now have greater flexibility in choosing how they follow their favorite team, whether through cable, satellite, or digital means.
Innovative partnerships and expanded broadcasting options highlight the Cleveland Guardians' commitment to fan engagement. By leveraging both conventional and modern media platforms, the team is poised to connect with a broader audience during the 2025 season. Through these efforts, they aim not only to entertain but also to strengthen community ties among baseball enthusiasts.
