Elite High School Tennis Players Shine on 2025 All-State Team
2025-06-24

The 2025 HighSchoolOT boys tennis all-state team showcases a remarkable group of athletes who have consistently demonstrated excellence throughout the season. Among them, Drew Hedgecoe from Terry Sanford stands out as a four-time first-team selection and a four-time 3A singles champion, marking a historic achievement in the five-year history of the recognition. Six other players made their third appearance on the team, while several others joined for the second time, highlighting the depth of talent across classifications and associations.

This year’s team is divided into three tiers—first, second, and third teams each featuring ten players—and an honorable mention list with fifteen names. Selections were based solely on singles performance during the season, with no consideration given to doubles results. For athletes from the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association, regular-season play was especially critical since they do not host individual state championships. Many standout performers emerged from this competitive landscape, including multiple repeat honorees and promising newcomers who are quickly making their mark.

While the list honors individual skill and perseverance, it also reflects the broader spirit of high school athletics—where dedication, hard work, and passion lead to personal growth and community pride. These young athletes exemplify how commitment to a sport can yield both personal success and inspiration for others. As they move forward in their careers, their accomplishments serve as a reminder that excellence is achieved through consistent effort, resilience, and a love for the game.
