Florida High School Tennis Stars Shine in 2025 State Championships

The 2025 FHSAA Tennis State Championships have drawn to a close, marking a celebration of outstanding performances and remarkable achievements. Teams like True North Academy dominated both the boys' and girls' categories in 1A, while Miami Palmetto secured their second 3A title in three years. Beyond these victories, individual athletes demonstrated incredible skill and dedication. USTA Florida took the opportunity to interview eight standout student-athletes, uncovering their journeys and aspirations beyond high school tennis.

In an inspiring display of talent, Kylie Kochis from Nease played a pivotal role in securing the 3A girls' team championship, adding to her achievement as the overall singles champion. Meanwhile, Ben Saltman from Winter Haven showcased versatility by clinching both the 4A boys' singles and doubles titles. Another notable performance came from Savita Bagirathan of Stoneman Douglas, who triumphed in the 4A girls' singles category. Maria Navarro, representing Benjamin School, proved her mettle as a finalist in the 1A girls' singles last year, setting the stage for greater achievements ahead. Fred Tu of Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy excelled in doubles within the 1A boys' division. The collaborative spirit was evident in the efforts of Ajinkya Karnataki and Yanni Anagnostopoulos, whose teamwork helped American Heritage Delray secure their third consecutive 2A boys' team title. Additionally, Mika Ringel contributed significantly to Gulliver Prep's third-place finish in the 2A girls' team competition.
