The idea for this festival originated over the Christmas break when Darius Swift, a math and science teacher, recognized the limited opportunities many students have to explore other cultures. The school administration embraced the concept, turning it into an annual tradition aimed at fostering global awareness among its students.

This year, Midway Elementary introduced its inaugural Food and Culture Festival, offering students a chance to journey through different nations without leaving campus. The event allowed participants to sample authentic dishes and learn about the unique traditions of various countries. Darius Swift envisioned this festival after realizing how few students had the opportunity to travel internationally.
