During its premiere weekend, from June 27 to 29, the film generated an impressive $2.8 million from 347,422 ticket sales, utilizing 1,584 screens nationwide. This strong opening accounted for a significant 37.8% of the weekend's total market share, as reported by KOBIS, the Korean Film Council's tracking service. To date, the movie has accumulated a cumulative gross of $3.8 million, with 482,490 admissions.

Animated Adventures and Homegrown Horror: A Diverse Market

In a shift from its previous position, DreamWorks' animated feature, 'How to Train Your Dragon,' secured the second spot, adding $1.08 million from 152,226 admissions to its coffers. Its total Korean earnings now stand at $11.4 million after four weeks in theaters. Meanwhile, the local supernatural horror film 'Noise,' directed by Kim Soo-jin, made a notable debut in third place. It garnered $1.08 million from 147,849 admissions across 878 screens. The narrative of 'Noise' revolves around Ju-young, portrayed by Lee Sun-bin, a hearing-impaired woman haunted by mysterious sounds linked to her sister's disappearance. The film's overall earnings have reached $1.4 million.

Disney-Pixar's science fiction animation, 'Elio,' descended to fourth place, pulling in $851,140 from 124,484 admissions, bringing its total to $3 million. Another Korean production, 'Hi-Five,' landed in fifth, adding $339,193 to its robust cumulative total of $12.6 million, having sold over 1.84 million tickets since its release. The post-apocalyptic horror sequel, '28 Years Later,' secured sixth place with $230,985, increasing its two-week total to $2.1 million. 'Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning' continued its run, taking seventh place with $173,972, boosting its cumulative gross to $24.3 million from over 3.35 million admissions. The South Korean occult political thriller 'The Pact' followed, earning $133,401 from 18,840 admissions, pushing its total past $5.2 million.

New Entries and Enduring Classics: Rounding Out the Top Ten

The new local documentary 'Nameless,' directed by Ha Jung-woo, debuted at ninth, grossing $132,362 from 18,023 admissions, with its cumulative total reaching $227,522. Completing the top ten was the re-release of Studio Ghibli's beloved classic, 'Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Winds,' which earned $117,800 from 14,942 admissions, bringing its Korean total to $200,318. Collectively, the leading ten films amassed $7.2 million over the June 27–29 weekend, marking a notable increase from the previous weekend's $6.3 million.
